EMDR therapy is a specialist, trauma-focused psychotherapy requiring a high degree of skill. I am an EMDR Europe Accredited Practitioner and Senior Accredited Counsellor (qualified 2014). I have successfully integrated EMDR therapy into my counselling and psychotherapy practice to successfully reduce clients' distress since 2017. I have experience of a wide range of presentations and I am skilled in working creatively with single event and complex trauma. Therapy sessions may be online or in-person. I adapt the session duration and frequency and my therapeutic approach to suit your particular circumstances and may offer intensive sessions.
With EMDR you can gain relief from deep rooted, irrationally held, negative, self-referencing beliefs and reduce the intensity of disturbing past experiences, often rooted in childhood. My training in psychodynamic theory underpins my person-centred approach to help you understand unconscious motivations for unhelpful patterns of behaviours and thinking. New insight and self awareness gained through EMDR therapy can often help when you have tried other therapies or medication, but your psychological difficulties remain stuck. EMDR works differently from talking therapies, bringing about welcome, relieving, psychological shifts.
I offer my therapy sessions three ways -
Get started with an initial no obligation consultation. An initial fee is applicable for my time, experience and advice but you do not have to commit to further sessions.
I am currently an ADHD coach in training. My training course is dual accredited by the Universal Coaching Alliance (UCA) and The Association for Coaching (AC). I aim to qualify by June 2026. If you would like to note interest in ADHD coaching sessions, please get in touch.
If you are employed, or about to start employment, you may be entitled to Access to Work funding for coaching sessions. Contact me to find out more!
