The light and welcoming therapy space is conveniently located in Midlothian, Scotland with on site parking and on local bus routes. Take in the panoramic views and open skies as you arrive in-person or join online. Breath in, exhale and settle into a calm, relaxed state.

Walking, or any form of bilateral physical movement can help you to feel more regulated. The founder of EMDR therapy, Francine Shapiro, found that her distress reduced when she was walking in the park, moving her eyes left to right. I recommend taking a walk after your session if you can. This view is 5 minutes away.

Hello. I'm Angela, an experienced EMDR Practitioner. I qualified as a Counsellor in 2014. Since 2017, I have found EMDR therapy to be so effective, I have chosen to specialise in this therapeutic modality. I was reaccredited by EMDR Europe and confirmed as a Senior Accredited Counsellor (SNCPS) (SCoPEd Column C) in 202
I completed my core counselling qualification in 2014. In order to complete basic EMDR training, I first had to acheive accreditation as a Counsellor which I completed in 2017. In 2020 I was approved as a Senior Accredited Counsellor and EMDR Europe Accredited EMDR Practitioner. In 2025 I was confirmed competent at Column C, the highest level of the new SCoPEd competency framework for the counselling and psychotherapy professions. Clinical EMDR Practice
2018 - date
My basic training was delivered by Dr Richard Mitchell, one of the most respected and experienced EMDR trainers in Europe. Dr Mitchell was trained by the founder of EMDR therapy Francine Shapiro in 1993/4. I was then part of an EMDR supervision group led by EMDR Consultant, Gill Moreton at The Rivers Centre - NHS Lothian’s specialist service for people affected by psychological trauma. My EMDR clinical experience post training has predominantly been in private practice. For 18 months I worked for a private mental health company in Edinburgh city centre which gave me broad experience to underpin my first EMDR Accreditation in 2020. I am also an associate for private medical insurers, employee assistance providers, charities and self-funding individuals. In another role, I manage a counselling service and draw on my EMDR skills to support individuals and groups.
